
ABOUT KARINEN RANCH
Karinen Ranch (pronounced "Carnin") has been Stearns family homesteaded/owned since 1887. The site of a historical US Post Office (1907-1953) and extinct town, the location was once a busy thoroughfare; on the stagecoach line-to deliver the mail from Medora, ND to Deadwood, SD at the end of the 19th century and early 20th century.
The Ranch's pristine wilderness boasts a wide variety of landscapes; from rimrock cliffs stretching downward over several hundred feet within numerous half-mile long wide drainage basins-to the perimeter farmland and rangeland. The Ranch Habitat also contains over 240 acres of various cover crops; alfalfa, brassicas, corn, millet, oats, wheat, and rye This changing landscape allows for a wide variety of game to flourish along-side this working ranch operation.
